Seven Circle Sunrise

Beauty In Being Alone

Veno Xavier - Vocals/Guitars
Taylor James – Drums

 Robert Thomas – Bassist

This next band comes out of my backyard. Seven Circle Sunrise hails from the Massillon/Cincinnati area. Veno, the frontman, grew up in Massillon before heading out due to circumstances. The young man picked up a guitar and never put it down. After picking up and headed west, Veno lived in a van hitting the town as a movie or TV extra to make some extra cash. After a stint on Nashville Star, he and his manager came together. During another difficult period, Veno’s manger kept on him and set up a session with a producer in Atlanta. Within a 10 day period he and the producer finished up the debut release Beauty In Being Alone. Veno then headed back to Cincinnati to round off the final band picking up Robert Thomas and Taylor James. The album finally hit stores in 2011and we are going to dive right into the eleven track album to see what we have. The album gets going with an “Intro.” You guessed it it’s just an intro that does its job in drawing you in and peaking your interest. It also heads right into “Broken Man.” With high flying guitars the track gets going before vocals come in with a somber sound style. As the track moves along it builds a little steam before reaching the chorus. They pick up the pace some and the vocals are a bit more boisterous. Emotion and passion is flooding from every aspect of this number. The lyrics are solid as this tune kicks off this album in the right way. “Another Day” is a tidal wave of emotion and sound. The song transitions from slow to fast several times and it does it flawless. I have a feeling that many people will latch onto these lyrics as they as well written. The music doesn’t hurt them either. With heavy drums and a great guitar solo make the track great. “Dead Love Letters” is yet another tune that you can get into. The vocals are very good and deliver a power punch in the form of words. The music, guitars, and drums get into the act with a great solo section that will have you cheering and chanting for them. The energy and intensity levels are there and will propel the track into stardom. “Nevershine” slows the album down for the entire tune. The passion floods from the vocals once again while the music lifts them up in the perfect way. I don't see the track doing much outside the album and making appearances live, but it’s not a bad track, it will just get lost in the mix. “After All” displays an opening that would be great way to kick off a live show with. The guitars get things going, and then the drums jump in. The quick intro really grabs your attention before the slow moving vocals come strolling in. The lyrics are super easy to pick up and you will find yourself singing along after a few listens. This is a great track that I can see being a fan favorite. “Praying For You” begins rather slow and maintains that speed through most of the track. The chorus picks up the pace, but only for a second. There are killer slow tracks out there, but I don't see this one being one. I just really couldn’t get into it at all. The vocals are a bit shaky and the music doesn’t hold your interest. “Undone” gets some of its spice back with a quick guitar intro. The vocals move in during a clean transition as the drums pick up and the guitars shift styles. The track as a whole isn't bad with poised vocals, decent lyrics, and a great musical solo, however I didn’t hear anything that will have it standing out among other bands work. You can hear that it will kick ass live and that might turn some heads that aren't knowledgeable about the band. “Place I Was Before” is a track that will grab your attention with its mini intro. The first verse is a bit hairy, but if you get through it the bridge and chorus will keep you coming back. The guitars light up and the vocals shine. The drums provide a steady beat for the entire song. “In Mate” is a strange track. It begins like it’s going to rip through like an F4 or F5 tornado than backs off like a summers sprinkle. There are parts of the track that I absolutely love, but other parts I’m not fond of. The vocal battle is solid and really caps the track off. “Home” wraps up the release with a heart-felt number in which you can hear that Veno leaves everything on the stage. I can see this one being another fan favorite, but not much more. Overall this is a nice album. I didn’t really know what to expect going into the review and they knocked my socks almost all the way off. There are a few tracks that I wasn’t crazy about, but the bulk of the album will catch your ear in some way. The vocals are pretty clear in each track and deliver the lyrics in a superb way. The music is really well written and played. The guitars and drums both get some spotlight and the solos spice up each and every track that they appear in. You can really get into the vibe of the offers easy and they stick in your head for awhile. Overall I like this album a lot. I’d like to see more so I can see what direction that they have went in. I think that they are well on their way to a solid career with this release.
